Hi!
Okay, so on April 24th (it's a Friday!!!) approx 17 elementary school students (4th graders) will be coming to campus for an art program. Deborah said she would offer extra credit to anyone in Installation who would be willing to help out. Don't ask me if that counts for Lauren & Rachel who are in Mixed Media. Anyway, here's the cliff notes version:
April 24th, 2009
10AM-12PM
Students arrive on campus, tour the different buildings, and do a collaborative art project with the Mixed Media class. They will be receiving a t-shirt and a snack. The idea is to expand their ideas about the nature of art, what art can be. These fourth graders ARE REALLY CREATIVE AND SMART, so I was surprised how much art they've already been exposed to. If you would like to help out, you could
give tours of campus
create a piece of art with the students
show the students some of your art work
etc etc.
Let me know if you'd like to help out!
BTW, you don't have to be there from 10-12. You can help for just an hour if you have time between classes!!!!

if you are in installation and you show up on friday, you can get extra credit.
ReplyDeleteif you are in the class that meets on friday and you come to your class that you are already required to come to, you will get something we in the biz call "credit." it's not as sexy as "extra credit", i know, but it still pays the mortgage
credit, shmedit... lets be good role models for these kids and show them how fun art is!
